Here is the team’s schedule for Memorial Day weekend:

Sat 5/26:

Sunday 5/27:
Game #3 vs SASA Revolution White at 3:30 on Lake Fairfax #4
Monday 5/28:
Game #4 vs ASC Radical, Silver Bracket Championship at 10:30 on Lake Fairfax #1

The team got the fall season off to a good start with four strong wins on Saturday and Sunday. In the first match the RF overpowered the LMVSC Patriots Red, 6-1, with goals by Laura, Lizzy, Aly and Morgan. In the second game, versus the SYA Cardinals, Lindsey scored the first and only goal on a beautiful diving header off a cross while Sam earned her first ‘clean sheet’. Sunday morning the girls continued their strong play, 5-0 against the NVSC Jr. Majestics, with goals by Julie, Lindsey, Lizzy, and Erin. In the championship game, a rematch against the Patriots Red, upset winners over the Cardinals, goals were scored by Morgan, Alysia/Laura and Lizzy in earning the title, 3-0. Congratulations girls!

The majority of the team attended the Soccer Academy’s “residential team camp” at Randolph-Macon during the last week of July-first week of August. Kudos to the girls for working hard and special thanks to their coach for that week, Mollie McCann of the Liverpool Ladies. The team should be in good shape for August tournaments!

Congratulations to the team for earning a spot in WAGS Division 3 for the Fall, on the basis of their 3rd place finish in Division 4 in the Spring. With all the new players on the team it should be an exciting Fall season. Go Real Force!
